With the recent integration of NFTs into Instagram greenlighted and deployed by Meta, we will be providing a brief overview of the news. With Instagram being the popular child of parent company Meta and boasting over 2 Billion active users to date, it is easy to see that this integration has massively positive implications for NFTs and the Crypto industry as whole.

The Instagram NFT integration allows users to share their digital collectibles and verify ownership. In August of this year, the platform expanded its testing to 100 countries across not only the Americas - but Africa, Asia-Pacific, and the Middle East as well. Additionally, support was added for Coinbase Wallet and Dapper Wallet. Meta aslo started testing the feature on Facebook.

From a cost perspective to individual creators, Meta has announced that there will be no fees associated with posting or sharing a digital collectible on Instagram. Once a creator or collector posts a digital collectible, it will have a “shimmer effect” and can display public information such as a description of the NFT (posts will also be visible on a user’s profile).

Meta will be collecting and organizing public data from open blockchains such as Ethereum to provide this feature. From this public blockchain data, they can only identify which collectibles belong to collectors and creators when they connect their third-party wallets to Instagram. Starting at launch, the blockchains that will be supported are Ethereum and Polygon, with Flow and Solana coming soon. All XIL token holders will receive a % of every project we incubate, so you all will be eligible for free tokens and discounted tokens of every project we launch. As one more piece of good news, all of the projects we will be implementing in our ecosystem will be using XIL in their products. We believe this would significantly boost the utility and adoption of XIL which is very important, and will eventually increase the value of XIL, because it will be pegged to all of the incubator’s projects.

Imagine that “Project B” is going to the secondary market at the valuation of $5MM. Xillion has 20% of it, so 10% of those 20% is going to be 2% of the total token’s supply. So, those tokens will be available for a free claim only for XIL token holders (XIL Club Members). The more XIL you stake, the more tokens you will be able to claim.

At the same time, another 50% (10% of total supply) of those tokens will be offered at up to 50% discount to XIL token holders. However, you will be able to buy them by using XIL tokens only. The more you stake, the higher the allocation you get.

What Projects are We Incubating Now, and When Do Those Projects Go Live?

It’s an EdTech platform built on Polygon, which allows blockchain companies to educate their users via simple videos, articles, and interactive quizzes. All of the users who have NFTs get rewards for every quiz they complete. This overview will be covering Aptos, a new high-throughput Layer 1 blockchain that uses a novel smart contract programming language called Move. The project is considered the technological successor of Meta’s abandoned blockchain network (Diem).

The project is developed by Aptos Labs, a blockchain startup led by two former Meta employees. Due to its stated theoretical throughput of 100,000 transactions per second, Aptos has been dubbed a potential "Solana killer." Austin Virts, the former Head of Marketing at Solana, is also now in charge of ecosystem building at Aptos. Aptos first made waves in the crypto industry in March of this year, after it was made public that it had raised $200 million in a seed round led by the renowned venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz.

In July, the startup raised another $150 million at a $1.9 billion pre-money valuation in a Series-A funding round led by FTX Ventures and Jump Crypto, before its valuation hit $4 billion two months later in a venture raise led by Binance Labs. The much-hyped blockchain unveiled its mainnet last week. However, over those initial 24 hours, the project took a lot of criticism for the lack of transparency around its tokenomics (the specifics of the cryptocurrency’s economic model and distribution).

Regardless of availability of specific tokenomics, Aptos Labs has stated to be “committed to developing products and applications on the Aptos blockchain that redefine the web3 user experience”. This comes with the intention to build a broad range of blockchain infrastructure tools.
